🌙 1447 AH Is Here: A Note for the Muslim Healthcare Professional

As-salam alaykum,

As we witness the new crescent of Muharram rise, a sacred invitation also enters our lives.

One that calls us to pause, reflect, and realign—not just our calendars, but our intentions—the real differentiator!

In this blessed month that Prophet Muhammad PBUH, called the Month of Allah, we are reminded of the story of Musa AS standing at the Red Sea, uncertain of the future, but firm in his trust and conviction. He reaffirmed this—Allah is with me and He will guide me. And Allah made a way for him and his people in an impossible situation.

This may seem irrelevant to us in healthcare at first glance. Let’s slow down for a moment.

You may not stand before a sea.

But you stand before patients, systems, and relentless struggles.

You lead, you serve, you hold space for others—often without pause.

These are our own rising tides—our reality. day in, day out!

In this blessed month, we are invited to slow down.

To let this new Hijri year be our permission slip to pause and;

Reflect on what truly matters

Recommit to purpose and presence

Reset your rhythm—with tawakkul at the center

1447 AH is not just a change of date.

It’s an opportunity to choose Allah as our anchor and

live with Barakah 

lead with Ihsan

lean into our purpose in alignment with His will.

This new day is an invitation to renew our commitment to transformation and growth that will help us bridge the gap in our pursuit of healthcare excellence and success in the dunya with our faith, resilience and lasting impact in this life and the next.
