Ramadan Notes 1446 AH #7: Leverage Clarity to Build Momentum

Reflect on Your Ramadan Experience and Find Your Next Best Version

As-salamu’ alaykum,

Alhamdulillah we had our second SakeenahMD Community Ramadan check-in for like-hearted healthcare colleagues today. Suffice to say that it was a powerful session by Allah’s leave.

We were all left re-energized with renewed clarity and a readiness to recenter our focus on Ramadan at a time that we all acknowledged the struggle of staying on track.

Allah SWT emphasizes the point that the days of Ramadan are limited when he says in the beginning of the verse;

Surah Al-Baqarah v184: ˹Fast a˺ prescribed number of days

Strategy check - with one-third of the month almost gone now we challenged ourselves to step back and really get into the moment. We reflected on these 3 questions;

  • What ritual have you engaged in the past week that has given you the most heartfelt fulfillment?

  • What issues at home or at work are getting in the way of you achieving more in the past week?

  • What is the one goal that you are willing to give up everything to achieve in the remaining  days of Ramadan?

The common thread was that we all found fulfillment with 1 or 2 rituals but maybe we didn't internalize enough how powerful those moments were to build forward from there. What is your go to ritual this Ramadan and how are you leveraging the spiritual energy therein to optimize your Ramadan experience?

We also developed clarity around key detractors for us on an individual level and how to mitigate them going forward. What are your detractors and how are you handling them?

Lastly, we shined a light on the power of prioritization and going deep in just a few areas as the true springboard for growth and transformation by Allah’s will. The abundance of high-quality video series by contemporary scholars and teachers is one example - let’s stick with one and really get into it and share with family, friends and colleagues. Journal about it and practice even just 1 or 2 key lessons and build forward from there.

Please share your reflections around these questions with like-hearted healthcare colleagues and how you are optimizing at work and at home this Ramadan.

May Allah, the Most High, bequeath us all with the clarity and self awareness that drives informed intent and action as we continue the journey to find our next best versions this Ramadan and beyond. Amin.

Sincerely,

Sulyman
