Your Week Doesn’t Have to Run You
Join us this Sunday (Insha'Allah) for a live session on designing your week with clarity and Barakah.
As-salam alayum,
Most of us who work in healthcare don’t struggle with planning because we are disorganized — our struggle is more subtle, our prebuilt patient-centered schedules often drive the rhythm for the week with everything that comes with it and we end up with weeks on end shaped more by reaction than intention.
The urgent consultation fills every slot.
The meaningful and important personal care elements quietly get pushed aside.
And over time, the gap between who we want to be and how we actually live begins to widen.
Earlier this week, during my own annual wellness visit, my PCP ran through the usual PHQ-9 questions.
It struck me how easily even these essential acts of well-being get postponed — not because we don’t care, but because we struggle to find the pause button in the autopilot mode that we operate in as a default.
I see this same pattern in conversations with colleagues, coaching clients, and leaders:
Rushing from one patient encounter to the next
Constantly putting out fires at work and at home
Feeling spiritually and mentally stretched thin
Wanting to be intentional… but rarely having the space to breathe, let alone set an intention
And, quietly, losing confidence that planning will ever make a difference
The truth is…
Planning feels hard not because we’re too busy —
but because we seem to have stopped believing that it makes a difference or that it matters at all.
And yet, planning especially, through an Akhirah-minded lens can literally shift everything for us.
When our intentions are clear, our weeks become lighter.
When you design your week around your values, Barakah flows through naturally.
When your anchors come first, your dunya begins to align.
